Eco-Tour #1:
Soufriere Adventure
Off we go south along the coastal road through villages and valleys. Things happen. A Lucian will catch a live boa-constrictor and show it off. Try a fresh coconut by the roadside. Our tours are intimate and personal.
40,000 years ago a eight mile wide volcano collapsed and formed the Soufriere valley that is now so lush. This is the heart of St Lucia. The volcano is part of a vent system that stretches up to St Kitts. The volcano spews gas and hot mineral water.
The Diamond Falls Botanical Gardens is one of the most beautiful in the Caribbean. The gardens include the famous waterfall and a great variety of tropical trees and plants. Parts of the garden au natural, some are formal. Bring your camera.
It’s a short drive to Dasheene, the restaurant with one of the world greatest views. Located between the Pitons, with the Caribbean sea in the middle distance, this place serves good lunches and great drinks.

Eco-Adventure #2:
The Pitons
That’s right, you can climb the Pitons. Gros Piton is waiting to revel her beauty to the really adventurous and romantic team that is ready to scale her heights. No ropes or special gear, just smart sneakers and good legs. You want to do this and you can. Just do it. The hike takes about 90 minutes to the top. The view of the ocean, and most of St. Lucia, is just stunning.
Located near Soufriere, these twin peaks, topping 2,000 feet, are St. Lucia's most famous landmark.
The Gros Piton Trail starts in the remote village of Fond Gens Libre. The trail winds its way through dense vegetation and past fallen boulders. It is worth taking your time to notice how the surrounding foliage changes as you near the misty summit. Once on top, there is an area usually bathed in sunshine offering stunning views over Choiseul and to the very south of St Lucia to Hewanorra.
After a rest, it is time for the hike down. The Gros Piton Trail is one of the most magical hikes in St Lucia and is sure to leave a lasting impression on all those who are willing to make the effort.
